Costumes are an important part of a dance recital.
We wear costumes for our dance recital because it helps make our performance extra special! Costumes help us look like the music we're dancing to – just like characters in a story or colors in a painting. They help everyone feel like part of a team. When we wear our costumes on stage, it helps us feel confident, excited, and ready to shine!
Each group has their own costume. The costumes have been ordered and most are here and will be distributed to your child’s dance class in Week 1 of Term 4. A parent or guardian will need to sign out the costume, that they have recieved it.

I would suggest buying a clear coat bag to protect the costume and hang it up safely. The cheapest I have found are at Mitre10 or kmart have these in a three pack.

Sometimes alterations are needed to fit the dancers body more comfortably and so I recommend doing these as soon as you get the costume. This can be done in the malls or a quick google will notify you of seamstresses in the area.

Personally, I have used in the past and can recommend -

  • Sew N Sew, 7b Normans Road, Strowan - 03 355 8533, No appointment necessary - just walk in.

Please check with your teacher before making any alterations
